In Mexico, Dia De Los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a huge party holiday. Not unlike Mardi Gras, Dia De Los Muertos involves costumes, drinks and lots of good times. Traditionally, this holiday is celebrated each November first. This year, we’re bringing Dia De Los Muertos to Taco Mac with two Mexican drafts and a Mexican Beer Bucket.

Draft Beers

Modelo

This is a rich pilsner with a slightly sweet taste and crisp finish. It’s made from malted barley, corn, yeast and light hops. This beer began in Mexico in 1925 as a model beer. It slowly made its way into the U.S. through bodegas and convenience stores and is now the number two imported beer in the U.S. Always true to the original vision, Modelo expresses the traits of substance over style and quality over quantity. Try it with our Southwest Wrap and let us know what you think.

Modelo Negra

Negra means dark or black, which begins to paint a picture of this beer. The Munich Dunkel style dark lager is incredibly drinkable and smooth, especially when compared to other beers in its class. Slow roasted caramel malts are combined with dark malt, two varieties of hops, and two types of barley to create a rich amber hue and medium-bodied flavor you won’t experience with any other beer. The caramel flavor peeks through to add a bit of sweetness, smoothing out the bitterness of the hops. We like it with our Chicken Tortilla Soup.

Beer Bucket

Our Dia De Los Muertos Beer Buckets come with four 12oz bottles of your choice from the following Mexican beers.

Corona

Perhaps one of the most well-known Mexican beers and frequently associated with good times and parties, no Mexican celebration would be complete without a Corona option. We’ll include the lemon or lime wedges! The pale, lightly flavored beer is excellent in warm environments and doesn’t leave you feeling full. Pair it with our Shrimp, Avocado & Mango Salad for a truly south of the border experience.

Modelo

The same great beer we’ve got on tap, but in the bottle instead. If you like that fresh pop and cool wisp when you remove a beer cap, this option is the way to go.

Modelo Negra

The bottled version of the beer we’ve got on tap. If you tried it on tap and want more, this is a great way to get your fill and keep it cool at the table.

Victoria

Mexico’s oldest beer, Victoria has been steadily brewed as a Vienna-style lager for 145 years. The rich amber color and toasted malt flavors are balanced by crisp finish and low hoppiness. Victoria is an import beer drinkers dream. Try it with a bowl of our Chili for a complete Dia De Los Muertos experience.

Corona Light

Smooth and light bodied, Corona light is a favorite with men and women. Slightly fruity with a distinctive hop flavor, you’d never know this beer has only 99 calories and five grams of carbohydrates. The lemon or lime wedge adds some tartness to round out the flavors. Try it with our Buffalo Burger and a side of Mexican Street Corn.

Try all five and let us know which is your favorite!
