About
Samuel Adams Boston Lager is the best example of the fundamental characteristics of a great beer offering a full rich flavor that is both balanced and complex. It is brewed using a decoction mash a time consuming traditional four vessel brewing process discarded by many contemporary brewers. This process brings forth a rich sweetness from the malt that makes it well worth the effort. Samuel Adams Boston Lager also uses only the finest of ingredients including two row barley as well as German Noble aroma hops. The exclusive use of two row barley not only imparts a full smooth body but also gives the beer a wide spectrum of malt flavor ranging from slightly sweet to caramel to slightly roasted. The Noble hops varieties Hallertau Mittelfruh and Tettnang Tettnanger add a wide range of floral piney and citrus notes which are present from the aroma through the flavor to the lingering smooth finish. We take great pride in the Noble hops used in our beers. They are hand selected by Jim Koch and our other brewers from the world's oldest hops growing area. Among the world's most expensive they cost twenty times as much as other hops.

Named in honor of founder Jeff's bike trip through Belgium Fat Tire Amber Ale marks a turning point in the young electrical engineer's home brewing. Belgian beers use a far broader palette of ingredients (fruits spices esoteric yeast strains) than German or English styles. Jeff found the Belgian approach freeing. Upon his return Jeff created Fat Tire and Abbey Belgian Ale (assuming Abbey would be his big gun). He and his wife Kim traveled around sampling their homebrews to the public. Fat Tire's appeal quickly became evident. People liked everything about it. Except the name. Fat Tire won fans with its sense of balance: toasty biscuit-like malt flavors coasting in equilibrium with hoppy freshness.

This blond perfect one stresses the qualities of an exceptional houblon as well as of different clear malts. She offers herself points aiguës bitterness and unveils to the nose an astonishing malted coat. The conclusion combines a bitter and peppered tone without aggressiveness. She represents strong blond beer under its better appearance. She was sacred champion of the world of beers in 1998.

Our Ace Pineapple is another first [thirst] for the California Cider Company. We believe it to be the original pineapple cider made anywhere in the world! We add pineapple juices to our fermented apple base to produce a 5% ABV cider that has a great pineapple nose and a semi-sweet initial taste with a tart finish. **Contains Lactose** Hazy Like a Fox is our first true NEIPA brewed with a blend of pale malt, oats, wheat, flaked barley and lactose. It pours a pale gold with an opaque haze. Pineapple and tangerine hop aromatics dance together in the nose while its taste is very soft with a juicy orange and tangerine finish. By tweaking the balance of our brewing water, we gave this beer a very soft and smooth mouthfeel with low perceived hop bitterness. Hazy Like a Fox was double dry-hopped, once during fermentation to give it huge orange juicy character and again post-fermentation to derive intense hop aromatics.

Jai Alai, a game native to the Basque region of Spain, is played on a court called a fronton. Jai Alai players attempt to catch a ball using a curved mitt whilst the ball travels at speeds up to 188mph! Proving they have a sense of humor the Spanish dubbed this game, with its ball traveling at racecar speeds, “the merry game.” Tampa was once home to a bustling Jai Alai fronton but sadly all that remains of Jai Alai in the Tampa Bay area is this India Pale Ale that we brew in tribute to the merry game. Fresh Dry Hopped Double Red Ale. Looking to drain the main vein on a 420 mile road trip, el Danko casually slipped into the dankest Nugget hop field known to man. Stupefied by the pungent aromas, his eyes rolled back as he fell into a sea of sticky buds. After 4 days of being pinned to the vines, he thought he was a goner. Believing he was hallucinating as every woodland creature, horny toad, and Sasquatch rushed past his stuck self, he suddenly became petrified as he witnessed a million army ants marching his way devouring everything in their path. He said one last Hail Mary as the ants began to chew on him and the vines. With one final gasp, he jerked free and hauled balls out of the field with biting ants and sticky hops covering his pruned body. Desperately in search of ant bite relief he belly flopped in the 1st oasis he saw, which was a fermenter at SweetWater. Fuddied up, el Danko’s teabag plunge turned this brew into a double red from the bleeding ant bites, and dry hopped this bad boy from the fresh Nugget hops that were stuck to his pitiful self.

For this beer, we wanted to design a simple lager that was light in ABV but still very delicious and present on the palate. A delicate balance has been struck between the malts and German hops, leaving the impression of white bread, pepper, and nice noble hop character. These flavors are wrapped up in a dry, crisp package with a pleasant mouthfeel which all in all makes for a highly drinkable beer. Classic City Lager is the perfect companion to a day by the pool, a night out in Normaltown, a show at the 40 Watt, a round of disc golf, or a porch on Boulevard. It has just enough of everything in an extremely clean presentation to make it a great sessionable lager. It’s beautiful, balanced, and immediately classic.
