A Pint To Accompany That March Madness?
March 25, 2016Ah, March. What’s not to like about a month synonymous with sneaking away from the office to watch college basketball and enjoy a beer?
While you’re stressing about the demise of your bracket, we’ll take any additional worries about beer selection off your plate.
If you’re overwhelmed by the craft variety available, we’ve put together a brief list of some of our recent favorites from our draft lists* (call it our Final Five) which we guarantee will pair well with a pick and roll.
- Jekyll Brewing Company’s Fixin’ To Session IPA (4.9% ABV) – Nothing says sports like a quality session IPA. This brew is easy to drink but still aggressively bitter. Best of all, the low ABV means you don’t need to limit yourself to just one beer during your game watching marathon.
- Clown Shoes Aurora Orangealis IPA (7% ABV) – This citrus-hopped
beauty has everything you want in an IPA, plus orange zest to add a little Georgia to the mix. Better yet, IPAs can pair well with just about any food, making this an ideal choice while you’re chowing down. - Lonerider Brewing Company’s Shotgun Betty Hefeweizen (5.3% ABV) – Though probably not your first choice if you’re looking for a basketball-esque beer, this hefe features rich banana and clove aromas, making it the perfect alternate to sub in for your usual IPA. If you’re tempted to choose a salad over wings, especially something with a citrus dressing, this is the beer for you.
- Red Brick Brewing Company Laughing Skull (5.4% ABV) – Every sporting event needs an amber. What else would you pair your cheeseburger with? This local favorite is a full-flavored amber ale with a crisp finish.
- Terrapin Liquid Bliss Porter (6.7% ABV) – Okay, so you’re the sweet and dark type, we get it. This porter maintains a complex balance of salt and sugar through its peanut and chocolate aromas. Think of it as your dessert in a glass, for that down-to-the-buzzer finish.

*Note – Not every beer on this list is available at all of our Taco Mac locations (selection varies by location), but our app can tell you if the beer you’re craving is available at your local restaurant.
